The Imagery of Flight

Final “First Thursday” Reception: October 7 from 5-7pm
From the oddball and quirky to the classic and infamous, WINGS focuses on the imagery of flight. All the paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, sculptures and “objet d’art” in the exhibition are culled from our currently consigned inventory.
On display will be work by: Joe Andoe, Tony Angell, Alfredo Arreguin, Virginia Banks, Alistair Bell, Kenneth Callahan, Michael Ehle, Rev. Howard Finster, Tony Fitzpatrick, Morris Graves, Gaylen Hansen, Paul Horiuchi, Fay Jones, Helmi Juvonen, Charles Krafft, Cheryl Laemmle, Alden Mason, John McQueen, Jeffry Mitchell, Michael Nakoneczny, Isaac Osuitok, Charles Peterson, Susan Plum, Amy Jean Porter, Robert Rauschenberg, Herb Ritts, Isaac Smith, Jay Steensma, Charles Stokes, Whiting Tennis, Sanzo Wada, Andy Warhol, and James Washington, Jr. among others.
Also included are several anonymous or not-often-seen works: vernacular found photographs, a folk art bird painting from the late 1800s, a Spencerian ornamental flourish ink drawing, two of Bernard Kobel’s infamous mail-order tattoo photographs, and more.
